Privacy Policy

Here’s what we collect and why:

Account info. When you sign up, we store your email address (via an auth platform) to manage your account and let you log back in. There’s no password — we send a one-time login link to your email instead.

Your crate and favorites. We store which DJs you’ve added to your crate and which tracks you’ve favorited, so we can show them back to you. This data is tied to your account and isn’t visible to other users.

Sets you upload to My Taste. When you upload a rekordbox history file or a YouTube link, we store the set’s tracklist and your DJ name privately to build your My Taste page; other users can’t see them. We read only the track details we need (such as title, artist and label) and don’t keep the file itself. Track details you upload, such as a record label, may become part of our shared track catalogue. YouTube links are checked by an AI service, and links we can’t accept are logged. Deleting a set, or your account, removes your sets. If you add a profile picture, we store a small square copy to show on your own pages; removing it, or deleting your account, deletes it.

How you use Tastewave. We record what you do in the app — DJ pages you open, tracks you play, favorites, crate changes, streaming-link clicks and Sound DNA shares — against your account, so we can see what’s working and improve recommendations. Only the Tastewave team can see it, we don’t share it, and it’s deleted if you delete your account. We don’t record your IP address or device details for this.

Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time while signed in here. It happens right away and can’t be undone: your email, crate, favorites, uploaded sets, profile picture, Sound DNA share links, DJ requests, searches and activity history are permanently removed. Sets you submitted to the catalogue stay there but are no longer linked to you. We email you a confirmation once it’s done. Our hosting provider’s routine database backups may hold a copy for a short time before they expire. If you can’t sign in, email us via the Contact page and we’ll delete it for you.

Third-party services. Tastewave runs on a few outside services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Cloud providers host the site, store your account and app data, handle sign-in, and give us anonymous, cookie-free page-view and performance stats.
  • An email provider sends sign-in codes and account notices, so it receives your email address.
  • Set data comes from YouTube and a public database of DJ sets and tracklists. Sets play in YouTube’s embedded player, which follows YouTube’s own privacy policy and may set its own cookies.
  • Spotify and Apple Music provide artist artwork and the links that take you to their apps to add tracks. Artwork loads from Spotify’s image servers; we never share your account details with them.
  • An AI service helps us read tracklists from set descriptions, and a music similarity service suggests related tracks. Neither receives any information about you.

What we don’t do. We don’t sell your data. We don’t share your email with third parties for marketing. We don’t track you across other sites.
